Eddystone is a protocol specification that defines a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) message format for proximity beacon messages. It describes several different frame types that may be used individually or in combinations to create beacons that can be used for a variety of applications. 1

Eddystone is a device and specification created by Google to occupy a space known as "Physical Web". Physical web devices, are physical items in the real world which emit a url that can be noticed by devices ready to listen for it. Google's Chrome browser natively can recognize this on google phones, and other apps like the "physical web" app and apple's iBeacon software can also recognize the beacon.

If you used our Physical web beacon today to login, you were generating xAPI statements.
